2010 REGIONAL BICYCLE PLAN
The Bicycle plan study took place from July 2009 to July 2010. The scope of work focuses on a ten year planning horizon, which identifies and programs short and long range bicycle infrastructure projects. The planning study enables a connected transportation infrastructure projects. The planning study enables a connected transportation infrastructure system that coordinates the built environment. In addition to planning the comprehensive development of the bicycle transportation system, community issues such as traffic safety, bicycle encouragement and education, equity for all road users, community health and community economic development are also addressed though the implementation of the bicycle plan.
The purpose of this plan is to improve bicycle access and connectivity throughout the transportation system in order to connect people with places. The outcome of the bicycle plan focuses on the development of an on and off-road bicycle system by identifying exciting bicycle-compatible roadways as well as future infrastrcuture projects.
