ESI Consultants, Ltd. was contracted to conduct a study of the current access along the IL Rte 1 Corridor throughout the DATS MPO boundary and provide insight into potential access enhancement techniques in 2008. From the study, access enhancement techniques and guidelines have been developed that can be incorporated into local ordinances and policies to provide consistency between the local agencies within the MPO boundaries.

K-Plus Engineering, Ltd. was contracted to conduct a feasibility study for alternative corridors in the Catlin area of Vermilion County in 2006. This project focused on traffic in southwest portions of Vermilion County for access to the City of Danville via Lyons Rd, US 150 and Henning Rd. With the recent reconfiguration of Tilton Rd and IL 1, traffic is utilizing streets through residential neighborhoods for access into the City of Danville.

Hanson Professional Services and RATIO were hired by the Danville Area Transportation Study
(DATS) to review Bowman Avenue and Vermilion Street and evaluate economic and transportation related alternatives for reducing the concentration of traffic along Vermilion Street.
